Your Redmond Ridge Fire Station 18 is part of King County Fire District 34. Station 18 was built and equipped by Quadrant Homes and serves Redmond Ridge as well as the surrounding communities.
Fire District 34 was founded in 1948. In it’s infancy, the City of Redmond contracted with District 34 for fire and medical protection of its property and citizens. Today the reverse is true, with the City of Redmond providing the personnel and equipment to protect the district's area under a five-year agreement. The Fire Commissioners' commitment to providing quality services has been their long-standing goal. This commitment and relationship with the City of Redmond ensures this partnership continues to be one of the leading service providers in the region.
The Redmond Ridge station is headed up by Captain Loren Charleston of the Redmond Fire Department. Captain Charleston has been with the Redmond Fire department since 1981, when he began his career as a firefighter. Captain Charleston was promoted to Deputy Fire Chief in 2002 and last year choose to step down from the primarily administrative position and return to the field, he wanted to be on the frontline again and responding to fires. We are pleased to welcome Captain Charleston to the Redmond Ridge community.
Station 18 is staffed 24 hours by 3 career firefighters that provide life support, auto extrication, confined space, trench collapse, rope, and water rescue services, and respond to hazardous materials incidents.
In speaking with the Staff at Station 18 they shared concern with the ROA office regarding the parking in Redmond Ridge. Please keep this in mind, and when parking in front of your home or on the main road ask yourself “could a response vehicle get through in the event of an emergency?” We will be working with the county to review this issue but you can help prevent a delay in response by keeping this in mind.
